Carrots

During a conversation, on hearing about someone...

Me: Wanting to get married because of the special treatment engaged/married women get from other people... one of the typical ways by which society controls individuals. Dangling carrots in front of them and denying them unless they do what it wants.

This is funny. It's like that saying: shaadi ka laddu. Jo khaye who bhi pachhtaye, Jo na khaye wo bhi pachhtaye.

:-p

One must not forget the carrot is hanging from a stick.

Once the carrot is gone, only the stick remains...

Neither are a reason to commit.

Baat say Baat Nikalti hey...I would like to say something here. You know what I hate the most about couples and married people on this planet. They look down upon the single and people out there. Regarding your post, may be they crave it because they feel that they will be happy after it or may be they want to feel secured!

Strange how an individual can give up personal freedom (and rights) merely for social esteem. But then, that's the way our society is.

Put aside marriage under the pressure of society. What about accepting straightaway when Nature controls us all by dangling its carrots of pleasure in the name of 'love'? Which is nothing but slavery (in all forms) to a single individual for a lifetime in the name of a bond. Is such a slavery more acceptable, more wiser?

It is not the 'ignorance of the ignorant' but the 'ignorance of the not-so-ignorant' which is more laughable. Slavery will be slavery whatever might be its origins, as long as it is accepted in any guise.

Im not interested in marriage. I cant say it openly to my family as many in my family still think that we are not supposed to think like that. Why they try to shape a person's.thoughts? Why I need someome to tell me what I need in life or not? Marriage is becoming a ridiculous idea for me. More than that I cant share my bed, body and personal space with a moron......!!!!!!
