Irony

This is the opening paragraph of an article which appeared today in Jang Newspaper, and can be viewed at this link. It is ironical to note, apart from being outraged, how the author begins by praising the injunction to respect other religions and then goes on to violate that very injunction.

No irony i see there.
Two are different,
Just a misunderstood Islamic-Prospective.
I don't think people can usually learn religious tolerance by living in a very homogeneous society.

Thank God people still have courage to speak up about intolerance in this country. God Bless!

I am an american who moved out to "discover" myself a few years ago. At the time I was in the epitome of my naivete and thought you don't know where you're going if you don't know where you came from. My "motherland" is pakistan. The fact is, I didn't realize the amount of prejudice, racism, and illiteracy dominates this country and how unfortunate it is that i can't even speak up for my own safety. The fact that you have the backbone to speak up just gives me hope that maybe the entire fate of the country isn't doomed. Maybe good people do exist here. Maybe i was wrong?! perhaps. I know a few ahmadis at this med school i attend who are discriminated to such a barbaric extent that people deem it necessary to act in such a way that they can't even eat their meals, or atleast try live in coexistence. If only people spoke up in this country, not just for ahmadis, but for all religious/racial/ethnic minorities. The root of all evil is intolerance. You make me proud that perhaps in the near future i won't be ashamed that I'm an american of pakistani origin. Thank you.

The starting sentence says that 'Islam teaches its followers to respect their ancestors and Scholars. It therefore asserts to believe all the Prophets & Messengers, Angels and revealed Books and offer their obligations accordingly.'

Then the message portrays about Qadianis, their mission and their disrespect to Islam and its message.

A message wrongly translated as well as wrongly interpreted.
