Well at least he got true friends, some people just don't.
(Sorry, I am being cynical)
Sometimes I get really annoyed at the whole 'true' and not-so-true friends.
It is a matter of chance, i suppose. Some people are lucky enough to find true friends, some people are just plain unlucky.
However, if you had a true friend, but you alienated him/her through your own behaviour... that is not cruel fate, that is punishment.
And i also don't believe that true friends can be found through deliberate search. My own personal experience says that true friends are discovered, not invented.
